Ather Energy has teased the Rizta family-oriented electric scooter featuring stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi
Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based start-up, has once again teased the upcoming Rizta family electric scooter. This time, the company has joined hands with the famous stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi. In a combined Instagram post, the comedian can be seen sitting on the fully camouflaged Rizta e-scooter. Slated for debut at the brand’s Community Day 2024 in the coming months, the previous teaser highlighted the silhouette of the Rizta.
In addition to this, Ather Energy’s CEO has already shared a video comparing the seat size of the brand’s upcoming Rizta with the segment’s best-selling Ola S1. Moreover, in another video, he was seen comparing the seats of the Honda Activa and Ather Rizta side by side. So, let’s have a look at the details of the upcoming Ather Rizta family electric scooter.
To begin with, the Ather Rizta is targeted at more sophisticated customers who are looking for a practical electric scooter rather than performance-centric buyers. This family-friendly electric scooter will sport a larger footprint and a more mature design language, thereby making it an appealing package for urban customers.
It is also safe to say that Ather is claiming big on space and practicality with the Rizta as suggested by the videos shared by the company’s CEO comparing the seat size of the upcoming e-scooter with segment leaders. Taking a look at the recent teaser image, the seat seems pretty large as it has a considerable amount of space left after the comedian occupies the front portion. This suggests that the Rizta can comfortably seat two passengers. Apart from this, we can also spot front disc brakes, a digital instrument cluster and a large floorboard in the teaser image.
The previous set of spy images also highlighted its decent luggage-carrying capacity. On the design front, the conventional styling of Rizta will create a differentiation from the current 450 range of electric scooters which is known for performance and aggressive youth-oriented design. As for features are concerned, we expect the Rizta to get all the modern bells and whistles including LED lights, riding modes, a fully digital instrument cluster, fast charging, smartphone connectivity and more.
The powertrain details of the Ather Rizta are under wraps, however, it will likely employ a new battery and electric motor setup. Rivalling the likes of TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak Premium in the Indian market, the Ather is expected to price the Rizta e-scooter around Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
