Tata Motors registered its highest-ever yearly sales for the third year in a row in 2023 as more than 5.53 lakh units were posted

In the calendar year 2023, Tata Motors recorded its highest-ever yearly sales for the third year in a row as more than 5.53 lakh units were posted. This has been achieved courtesy of the ever-growing popularity of the Nexon compact SUV and the Punch micro SUV. The former received its second significant update a few months ago and it was accompanied by the facelifted Nexon EV.

In addition, the homegrown manufacturer also introduced the Harrier and Safari facelifts with big updates inside and out. In the entry-level space, Tata brought in the CNG variants of the Punch and Altroz with twin-cylinder technology, which has been expanded to other models as well. In Q3 FY24, Tata recorded wholesales of 1,38,455 units with a growth of 5 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

The brand’s strong focus on retail sales during the quarter resulted in Vahan registrations significantly rising by 14 per cent and 24 per cent compared to the previous two quarters respectively. More importantly, the new Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier and Safari were launched during the quarter. Tata says the sales in the EV segment and twin-cylinder iCNG range also recorded steep growth during Q3 FY24.

The four offerings in the CNG segment cumulatively registered a substantial 214 per cent growth compared to the third quarter of FY23.

Tata is planning to bring in multiple new products during the 2024 calendar year in India as new SUVs and electric cars are waiting in the pipeline. In December 2023, Tata garnered 43,470 units as against 40,043 units with a YoY growth of 9 per cent. The EV sales stood at 5,006 units as against 3,868 units with a YoY sales increase of 29 per cent.
