United boss urged his boys to be the initiators of a change at the club after reports said the club was set to axe around 200 employees in an attempt at cost cutting.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim rallied his men to work towards a fillip that could lift the mood around Old Trafford after reports said the club was set to axe around 200 employees in an attempt at cost cutting. The once-hailed Untied have logged in losses in the past five years and INEOS boss Jim Ratcliffe who purchased stakes at the club intends to turn the machine around.
United languish in the 15th place in the Premier League table and head coach Ruben Amorim stated that the side’s performances on the pitch have had a huge impact on the overall situation prevalent at the fabled Mancunian club. Amorim took over the reins back in November and has managed just four wins since as United sit precarious in the lower-half of the English top flight.
“That is clear,” Amorim said.
“Of course we have to address all the problems in the club,” the 40-year-old added.
“But one important piece of this moment is to understand how we got into this situation and it has to do a lot with the lack of success with the football team, because I think we are the engine of any football club,” the Portuguese manager continued.
“So I just want to help the club in my department, to improve the team and improve the players and to have success,” the United gaffer said.
United can still salvage the season with a UEFA Europa League triumph and the United boss urged his boys to be the initiators of a change at the club, which has failed to win the PL title ever since the departure of former boss Sir Alex Ferguson all the way back in the year 2013.
“It’s hard enough. This year was really hard for everybody,” he said.
“We did as a club a lot of changes and, when then you are doing the changes, if you have a football team that is playing well and are winning games, in a certain way it’s easier for the fans and for everybody to feel those changes,” Amorim continued.
“In this moment, we are in the difficult period inside of the club and inside of the pitch so we have to fight against this feeling and we have to do our job, and we’re trying our best to help the team to perform better,” he stated.
