The second half of 2024 will see all-new launches from Mahindra, including the Thar Armada and XUV.e8

Mahindra is working to launch six SUVs in the Indian market in 2024. The company has recently introduced the updated Mahindra XUV 300 at a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with updating the existing models, Mahindra will debut its all-new cars, such as XUV.e8 and Thar Armada (5-door Thar). Here is what you can expect from these two upcoming Mahindra SUVs.

1. Mahindra Thar Armada

The company is continuously testing the upcoming Thar 5-door on our roads for quite sometime now. The five-door version of Thar will be referred to as Thar Armada will launch in India in mid of this year. As seen in the spy shots, the five-door Thar will receive a newly-designed front grille, new front and rear bumpers, circular LED DRLs and a new set of alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, spy pictures suggest that the off-road SUV will sport a 10.25-inch infotainment system, cup holders, new centre armrest and a sunroof. The HVAC controls will remain unchanged. In terms of powertrain, the Mahindra Thar Armada will continue to be powered by the current 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine options.

Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic unit. The Thar Armada is expected to be priced between Rs 16 lakh – Rs 20 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

2. Mahindra XUV.e8

Built on the INGLO modular platform, the XUV.e8 will be Mahindra’s first Born Electric SUV to launch in the Indian market. The electric version of XUV700, the XUV.e8 will sport a larger front grille flaunting Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, an LED DRL, newly-designed alloy wheels and connected LED tail-lamps.

One of the interesting features of the Mahindra XUV.e8 will be three screens, including a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster as well as a new screen for passengers. Specification-wise, the XUV.e8 will likely get an 80 kWh battery, mated with a dual-motor setup. To be priced between Rs 30 lakh – Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), the upcoming electric SUV is slated to launch in December 2024, as confirmed by Mahindra.
